Next, its fatigue strength is significantly improved. For metal workpieces of the same material, within a certain range, the depth of the hardened layer increases, and the fatigue strength increases. However, when the depth of the hardened layer is too deep, the fatigue resistance will decrease and the brittleness will increase. Therefore, the depth of the hardened layer should be moderate.
